Why we built it

Off-the-shelf
didn’t fit.

Most project-management software is built for general contractors. We’re a steel shop. The workflow looks nothing alike, so we wrote our own.

FabWire speaks fabricator. It knows what a takeoff is, what a transmittal is, what an NCR is. The forms look like the forms we actually use. The drawing approval stages match the ones AISC expects to see.

A bid becomes an active job in one click. The traveler, RFIs, change orders, submittals, daily reports — all stay attached to the project they belong to.

Records stay put. We’re not paying a SaaS rent to access our own job history, and nobody can sunset a feature we depend on.

When the shop needs something new, we add it. Same week, usually. There’s no support ticket queue and no quarterly release.
